Aer Arann expansion
Aer Arann has announced three new UK services - Waterford to Manchester, Kerry to Manchester and Donegal to Glasgow Prestwick. The airline predicts that the new routes, which start on May 3, will add an extra 30,000 passengers during their first year of operation.
The airline has also added a new 66 seater aircraft to its fleet which has enabled it to launch these additional services and additional capacity on its Galway and Waterford to London Luton route.
Aer Arann currently provides nine routes to the UK as well as providing services to all eight regional Irish airports.

Arran's view -" And what a damned fine little airline"
Have to agree with your words, compared to the my frequent travels on the previous operator of Luton - Waterford, Aer Arann are much better, the service is 1st class.
Little maybe not the word, becomming a major commuter operator and good luck to them, a breath of fresh Aer (pardon the pun!)
And off subject but what became of FreshAer?

While the previous operators equipment may not have
been the greatest, the crew and groundstaff were 2nd
to none. The same can't be said of the management
(both sets) who ran the company into the ground.

Does anyone know how Aer Arran are getting on since they took over the Jetmagic route on BHD-ORK ?
I am led to believe that it is doing extremely well with loads
well in the 80% + range on some days.

The RE ORK-BHD loads are just great and that is even taking into account the relatively poor timing of the flights at present. I understand RE are changing the timings from 1st May to make the service even more attractive for the business passenger.
If only RE would restart the GX route from ORK to Nantes and I also have an idea that weekend rotations from Cork to Galway would work nicely coming in to summer. Here is hoping!

Good to see ORK - BHD doing ok although the route had already been proved by Jetmagic - the timings do seem to need revising particularly the too early pm flight - I do hope RE will look at further expansion from BHD - adding a link to the new Donegal - Prestwick might be feasible - also links to other ROI destinations might be considered.

Would like to see RE operate flights to Brittany and Jersey from Cork that both EI and GX operated in the past. Would also like to see them improve the flight schedule for the business traveller between Cork and Belfast and also increase the number of flights on the Edinburgh route. Maybe consider London City airport too.

More expansion news from RE! Due to start a new ATR72 flight from Waterford to Nantes twice weekly. A good one for Waterford to be sure. Cork appears to be quickly losing the plot, though?

I think there are so many good opportunities for RE to take advantage of. I've thought for a long time that they should do ORK/LTN or LCY (especially now Jetmagic are gone) despite the indirect competition with FR ORK/STN. Also, ORK/NCL, ORK/AMS, ORK/CDG (morning and evening) would fit in to their network quite nicely, as would the likes of DUB/HUY, DUB/NWI and DUB/DND (with a bit of advertising at both ends), in my opinion.
I think RE are a nice little outfit that have worked hard to do well and I hope they continue to do so.

The RE growth at Luton represents growth of 213% in seat availability on these two routes, giving almost 100,000 seats available ex-Luton per annum.
Obviously Irish passengers like Luton as a gateway, so how about RE services to Luton from Cork, Kerry, Londonderry and Knock?
