bmi baby WW5554 Cork-Manchester 7/2/03
I was pax today on this flight with about 50 other passengers and on landing on Manchester's r/w 24L at 0937Z we were chased by 5 Fire Engines and an Airport Operations Jeep. On rollout we stopped and were given a good looking over - then taxied to the gate with the five fire engines still in tow. On disembarcation we were still being examined closely.
Now, the same aircraft G-OJTW was due out again to Murcia at 10.30 am, pushed and maybe started but the aircraft then returned to the gate once more and did not move again until about 3 pm or thereabouts.
Anyone know the story? Just curious as I had been on the aeroplane.

An unneccessarily smart-arsed response, I think.
I have no knowlege about that flight, but sometimes crew decide to get a gear/brake inspection if they've had a minor system failure like thrust reversers or anti-skid. They use the fire crews to visually check the brakes aren't smoking or burning before taxying to stand. Not an everyday event, but nothing to worry about if this was the case.

I've deleated my previous post as I did not intend to offend anyone. It was only a joke, hence the smilies. Please don't let this thread now go off the topic onto what is funny and what is not, as I fear that Tom will not get any answer to his original Question. Lighten up a bit guys, I suggest that the ones with the "Attitude" are the people who are so quick to jump on other peoples backs.
