Emirates n/s to Melbourne
According to Just Planes, Emirates will inaugurate nonstop service from Dubai to Melbourne on 10Jun04.
Emirates already operated a daily onestop service on this route with a Boeing 777-200/300.
The new nonstop flight is in addition to the existing flights.
Emirates will initially operate 3 weekly nonstops (Tue/Thu/Sat) increasing to 6 nonstops
on 01Aug04 (Daily ex Sat) all with Airbus A340-500s.
I suspect this may be in place of the proposed NY service, which had been due to start in June.
No word yet on the proposed second daily to Sydney, new service to BKK/ADL and Dublin, but the year is still young . . .
