Prestwick-Rome a possibility

Stated on one of Ryanairs articles at PIK recently,

They are looking at a possible Rome service according to UK sales and marketing manager Cathy Timlin.

Also I see that the snn-pik service has an aircraft originating in Shannon so what happens with the a/c at Prestwick which was being used for the SNN rotation, could it be used for the supposed Ciampino route?

I think you will find that to allow for the sector length of a BGY service with existing based a/c they had to drop a STN service(now 8 daily) and switch another route(SNN as it turns out)to a non PIK based machine, so there is still nowhere near enough slack to operate a CIA service unless they get a 5th a/c at PIK or its operated by one based in Rome.I think as all the other RYR bases are now linked to PIK it`s more a case of "when" rather than "if" for a Rome service, after all Ryanairs PIK base "wasn`t built in a day"
