LBA Summer 2004

It seems like LBA will have 2 IT aircraft based next summer. One from Monarch operating for Tui/Thomson and Mytravel Airways operating for Airtours.

What I wanted to know was what type of aircraft are goint to be used? Last year saw Britannia base a 762 and later a 752 with Mytravel basing a 752. Will it be the same next year?

Regards

Mike

What's your source for the Monarch story?

Last I heard (v.recently) was that the TUI plan was for a carbon-copy of S03. B762 in May-June and a B757 for the rest of the season.

The other current LBA thread says Monarch will be operating next summer instead of BY. Only asking from what I've heard.

...thought so. That particular thread is a classic case of putting 2 and 2 together to get 42!

The only Monarch flight currently planned for LBA for S04 is a Tue afternoon sortie to PMI. An A320 operating on a 'w' pattern from MAN, chartered by My Travel.

BY will be operating most likely, however if MON are operating will they use an A300 which is about the same size as a 767-200 during May-June then a 757 for rest of the summer.

Monarch A300s have 361 seats, Britannia 762s have 290 seats....bit of a size difference there

I think that you will find all BY B767-200 either have been or are being reconfigured to 274Y again. The B767-300's are also getting a reconfig, to 315Y I think.

Does this mean BYs 767s maybe 2-3-2 instead of the 2-4-2 seating layout. Whats the seating capacity of the A320 of Iberworld i am flying on, is it bigger or smaller than the 737-800.
Also whats the size difference of an A321 and a 757.
I remember once going on an Air 2000 A321 to Tenerife from LBA and it seemed just like a 757.

Ok, most charter airlines operating A320s put 180 seats, which is the maximum, and 738 operators 189.
A321 usually has 220 seats in charter config, and 757-200s range between 219 and 239. 757-300s in TCX layout have 279, I think?
