Dan Air Callsign

Hi
Could anyone tell me what callsign Dan Air used when they were still around?
Thanks
Paul

....and why did the Dan-Air 1-11's RT transmissions always end with that noisy "beep"?

Not just Dan's 111's radios made that noisy beep. It was characteristic of a lot of 111s. I can remember the same from BCAL and BA 111s. When you heard it you knew immediately it was a 111.

Didn't some Dan crews sign off with "Chuggalug". It wasn't used as callsign.

Dan Air and "Chuggalug". The story I heard, from the mouths of the horses in question. Dan Air’s unofficial PR Department made sure that ATC Maastricht was never short of a certain beer.

In return, a Dan Air transmission ending in Chuggalug" was a coded request for a direct routing. Worked every time I‘m told.

Talking and was it not

Going into a Scottish field, as the myth goes:

F//kin' Danair

and check your ATIS?

Long live Dans, before my time in the game, but flew them more than once, on 727's. and worked their drivers in the winter months when released.............

Who I met, a damn goood bunch.
