Exclamation N777AS Boeing 777 - Bournemouth

Hi People,

Around 2-3 months ago a Boeing 777 registration N777AS arrived at Bournemouth and since then has been parked there and not moved.

Does anyone know the history of this aircraft or why it is parked at Bournemouth?

I did a search on Airliners.net and found some info, it appears that this aircraft has had very little use in its life.

Thanks for any info.

David.

Go to the Bizjets & GA forum & do a search on Mid East Jet, some talk about this earlier this year.

RE: Bournemouth 777

It's being placed at Bournemouth as it's cheap to ground the A/c there, and it's waiting delivery to an airline in china in January. It was delivered there by boeing apparantly. i'm pretty confused why it didn't just stay in seattlebut hey! let me know if you find out anymore info on this! [email protected]

I doubt it will be going to an airline in China - what would they do with a VIP 777? And it wasn't delivered to Bournemouth by Boeing - the current crew is all Mid East Jet.

Ever since the 777 appeared at Bournemouth I have never seen the 747SP that was based there. Has the 777 replaced it?

Groundloop - The 747SP is here right now and has been for a long time - it flys 3-4 times per month.

A330 - Way off the mark - This is a VIP aircraft operated by Mid East Jet - Parking fees here at Bournemouth are somewhat chaeper than elsewhere, hence the reason for it being here.(That also applies to the SP which used to be based at STN).

This 777 spent a looong time at Waco, Texas where it was fitted out prior to delivery, hence its very low time.

This aircraft spent 4 years 11 months at Raytheon Waco. It has one of the finest interiors of any aircraft built. The mini-nightclub is just pure class!

Unfortunately quite a boring paint job (in my opinion) for such a beautiful aircraft.

Yea very boring - but that's the idea. it doesn't attract too much attention at larger airports - standard Kalair colours - same as 707's N707KS/N707SK.

The colour scheme is standard Mid East Jet, not Kalair. And its a very smart colour scheme IMO.

Nah, it's very bland and anonymous, just as they want it to be.
