What a very sad day for british aviation.I suppose it will be parked next to the AVRO RJX and added to future british museum pieces.Its so ironic ,an old British Aircraft and a new British Aircraft and both in Museums and both disscontinued.................

G-BOAC will indeed be displayed next to the Avro-RJX, in the long term the airport is looking to build a glass housing to shelter her from the elements. The airport are hoping to secure more aircraft, with the BAC-111 being mentioned fairly frequently...

Its on its way, just flown past me. 1000ft cloud base stopped me from seeing it!

My last chance gone of seeing a flying Conc then, hidden by OVC010! The growl from 4 Olympus was wonderful.
Sad really as most of this autumn has been really good VFR!
I love East Fortune, they have a Tiger Moth ex Dunstable/London Gliding Club on display. Light blue G-AOEL. (Dick Emery).

Ref AF returning to Filton, the local media report that because accommodation at Filton is limited (3,000 spectators being admitted to site) the final Concorde will overfly the city of Bristol, including the Clifton Suspension Bridge and Avon Gorge prior to landing.
At some point in final approach/city overfly she is expected to be joined by Rolls Royce's Spitfire.
A spokesman for the local police suggested that the best place for spectators would be the Bristol Downs (adjacent to the Avon Gorge). This area is a massive open space of hundreds of acres of flat, accessible grassland.

According to the latest rumours on the grapevine the viewing park at EGCC is to contain the following aircraft (though quite where they're going to find the room is beyond me) ;

Niteflite; You are correct to ask the question as to why and when could they obtain a 1-11 or a 748. At least a number of the 748's are still aborn in the northern hemisphere. I would have thought an ATP or J41 would not be out of place.
