more bmibabies...

bmi have ordered 7 more 733's for ops by bmibaby. This takes the list up to 20 737s by Oct 04 - although upto 5 735's will be WFU.

Any news from any baby crew about where these new-borms will live, and where they might visit?

baby is to start operating from Teesside to several European destinations so will have a total of 4 operating bases - the others being East Midlands, Cardiff, and Manchester. Quite an expansion rate for the new kid on the block (not new really just BM in another guise). I presume several of the new aircraft will overnight at Teesside.

Cork gets so many babys these days from MAN, EMA & CWL a new hub here in the Southern Capital would not be too bad an idea?

Buster...
You sure about the south being the biggest market in the UK?
..
I feel that although Easy have LTN et al pretty well sown up,
the North is where we have the main say...and its a damned big say..
Anyway, LTN is just an oversized corregated shed...but what do I know....

Luton has more folk living within 60 minutes than any other UK airport.

M1 5 min, A1 15 min, M25 10 min, Railway 5 min so central London within 60 min.

Not my figures, but those used by the last airport administration.

If you compare the routes flown from Stansted by easy and those from Luton, there are currently around 10 not being exploited. Luton has no links to Scandinavia (Now soon to Arlanda?), Czech Rep, Germany etc.

Loads of potential routes and even more passengers wanting to fly.

It also happens to have more international airports within 60 miles than any airport in Europe.....
