Is This A London Spotters Forum?

Right guys, this is getting a bit boring. Over on Rumours & News there are currently 4 threads running concerning go-arounds, or aircraft coming in to land with a bit of a problem. Interesting as it might have been for the staff involved it is hardly news worth mentioning, neither a rumour.
Frequent visitors will know that these threads pop up on an all too regular basis. I appreciate that this site is primarily frequented by UK nationals, but for an outsider coming here expecting to see an international forum, the impression could well be that London is the premier site for go-arounds.

May I request that either a spotters forum is set up, or that these silly questions are directed to another forum or plain and simple deleted all together.

Rant over.

safe landing

We will all be pleased to know that there were 150 safe landing in Luton yesterday....all passengers safely departed terminal, no further action will be taken. Our best thoughts go with them. The emergency services continued to play table tennis, regardless of the increased stress iduced by the exposure to day time tv, in the crew room no less.

In a fit of pique we originally set up the airlines and routes forum to bury offerings from the computer savvy militants of the Reginald S. Potter faction but it's actually turned into a thriving and useful area

Present policy is to, if anything, cut down on fora so we will just have to wield the axe a trifle more viciously with the provisional wing of the Steepletone airband brigade.

Regards
Rob

Flip flop, I was very tempted to post something very similar to yours, but mine would have probably been nastier. Why are people obsessed with go arounds??

The replies to so called trash posts confirm the adiction of PPruners to these subjects.

It's like drugs and street sex, no way of controling them as long as there are buyers.

The suggestion from Fx3 gets my vote. It is irritating to find the server too busy to handle enquiries because people are asking about go-rounds. It is often stated that, at LHR, these are daily events.

I agree that Airlines and Routes has it's uses and I dip in to pick up highlights and can avoid the detail. I am sure that there are many other web sites that can handles the go-round threads. I vote to request people not to post such and immediate deletion of any new ones, unless prior permission has been given from the lofty heights of PPRuNe Towers.

Perhaps The Towers should set up a vote for this?

And now there's another one about LGW!! Let's just wait for the writer to crash and burn before we call the emergency services.

Flip,

Am I glad you did not suggest the go-arounders to divert to our "home base forum". But if they show up I guess they will be re-routed to the Viking Bar Go around, flap 15, positive climb; gear up...... and back to www.
