Jersey Airport Closure???
LARGE parts of the Airport may have to close if the States do not pay for essential repairs, the Harbours and Airport Committee has warned.
The committee believes that Finance and Economics has ignored an earlier States decision to fund certain infrastructure projects, including the replacement of the runway and concrete aprons, out of general reserves.
Harbours has now lodged an amendment to the Resource Plan asking that these projects, which total £30m, are paid for out of central funds.

The wonders of modern journalism!
What has really happened is that a previous voted amount of money has been rescinded by one government department and it will now be allocated from another government department....but while the wonderful politicians argue about who foots the bill the press can print what they want!
....out of interest a couple of years ago, according to the press, they were going to demolish the airport and re-build it in the sea....
