AFR complain about unfair subsidies
I am surprised by the lack of response on these pages to Ryanair's withdrawal from Strasbourg after complaints from Air France over unfair competition.
Talk about the pot calling the kettle black! This is the same Air France that received $3.3bn from the French government back in 1994.
The same Air France that is profiting from government payments of up to 80m euros for lost business and costs arising from 11 September.
Meanwhile those in the tourist industry in the Alsace region must be crying into their Pinot noir. The Bas-Rhine chamber of commerce promised the subsidies to RYR, surely they know what's good for their region better than some beancounter from a state airline?
