Smile New Abu Dhabi Airline

What's the scoop on the new airline to be based in Abu Dhabi? I have heard the name Union Al banded around.

UAE government have put up large amount of cash to set this up, which could be bad news for GF.

New Airline

Apparently the name is "Itihahad".... rolls off the tongue nicely!
Looking at an Airbus fleet 330/340.

Understand that the name is actually "Ittihad", which can also be rendered as "Etihad". Means "union", I believe.

Sharjah the smallest Emirate of the UAE are starting a low cost, called 'Mena Air' it will ply mainly with in the region and North Africa with a fleet of A320's. Can anyone confirm this bit?

Whats going to happen to Gulf Traveller who are based at abu Dhabi if 'Ittehad' gets started?

Sorry to be boringly picky, but Sharjah is the third largest emirate (after Abu Dhabi and Dubai), and is far from being the smallest. Smaller are Ajman, Umm al Qawain, Ras al Khaimah and Fujairah.
