In all seriousness i hope something comes out of your meeting. In effort for anything to ever move forward it must be a collective effort to better our profession. Nigerians/NonNigerians experienced/inexperienced we live in a globalised society and must embrace that as we move forward.

I'm not a pilot, so I'll proceed with care.
First, thanks to Capt Meggison for doing what the veterans who went ahead of him, should have done.
Second, I'm suspicious of so called "expatriate" pilots and any inputs they may offer. I think, ultimately, it's either they keep dominating the bizjet sector and cornering others, or you throw them out; and their opinion about that one is easy to comprehend.
Finally, do please avoid ego, treachery and greed. If you supress self and promote the common good, God will see you through

I decided not to go in case I got thrown out.

I am a so called 'expatriate pilot'. Been here for 4 years.

Expats are here to stay for a while as they have been for many years so perhaps locals and expats could work together for a common aim?

Bizarre concept I know.

1. This post disturbs me
2. Most corporate jets in Nigeria being flown by "expatriates" are being flown for nigerian owners, lessors. Under foreign registry's or by foreign owned entities like Vistajet etc. i imagine. Perhaps there is more i don't know.
3. Why do you trouble yourself coming to a public forum which is meant for pilot's and rumors pertaining to the prof. and then you state not to listen to certain individuals? Do you not sound a bit Xenophobic?
4. Obviously you have not looked at the books of Arik, Dana, Overland, Medview formerly AERO which Dutch owned at one point.. and various others who large proportions of Foreign pilots.

Guys please do NOT let this message thread turn into a slanging match between Nigerians and our foreign visitors working here.
There is enough room in the industry for us all!
The Nigerian Professional Pilots Forum seeks only to make it easier for new, low-time pilots fresh out of training find work.
Indeed pretty much all of them will at some point benefit from the experience of their foreign colleagues sitting in the left seat and this will be of great help as they develop professionally.
Guys, please remember, our expatriate colleagues are our guests and it is our responsibility to show them the hospitality that we would extend to friends and family so that when they eventually leave our shores they take away positive impressions with them!!

I have nothing against expats as we can use from their wealth of experience and knowledge. Infact i welcome them to the shores of mama Africa . I must say Nigeria can learn from China who hire all their first officers immediately after CPL training, they sign a bond with the airlines who pay for their training overseas.The rules are very stringent though as the airline owns the pilot till he can pay back the cost of his training.My point is even if China hire expats they make sure most of their first/second officers are Chinese who will be groomed to become future Captains. i schooled with most of them so i know this.I am only saying that the NCAA can do more to curb the rate of unemployed Nigerian pilots.

@ BLUE JUICE Finally,help will come when the Almighty God crowns my hardwork and opens a door no man can close as man proposes and God opposes.When opportunity meets hardwork, preparation and chance then my lucky star will shine as i have gotten this far not by man but by the Divine.

Fact is, I'm exasperated by the expat phenom, and the monster we have let it become in this country.
That's why it's easy to overlook the positive contributions expats, given proper management of pilot/tech employment policies by the NCAA, could make in certain flight decks.
exeng, I've been in a position where I was blanked although I deserved better, so I should have been sensitive in my post. Forgive me.
ediks, thanks for reducing temperatures. Only wished you'd admit some of those "guests" in our shores ain't goin' nowhere. And by definition, some of them will bequeath nothing. Which is where BLUEJuice's second point comes in. And that one beats me flat.
