Hi Gents
Heard that a C172 went down near FALA yesterday (31/07/2003). Does anyone have info on this.

Its a C182. Lost engine power on the turn to base. Put it in short. Nobody hurt, but probably a little stiff...

Sitting at JNB today reading the paper and saw a Picture of some guy with a smile( happily still alive) standing next to a 182 upside down in a field near Lanseria. I didnt see any fuel leaking, must have good caps on top.......I mean bottom.
It didnt say the cause.
Update.......Latest rumor is the aircraft had been sitting a while and the engine took a dump after takeoff. No wonder the guy was smiling as the picture didnt show a lot of damage.
