Pleasure flights from Jo'burg/Cape Town

Wotcha!!

ATC'er and ATC wifey in UK - ( a Rhodie!) visiting RSA in Jan/Feb 2004. Last year we tried to get a DC3/4 flight from Lanseria but they were all booked up (lack of planning!)

We are looking for anything - an evening flight or a few days away to Vic Falls.

Can anyone suggest anything??

mail me via here or direct at [email protected]

Hi There.

If you have a few pounds to spare, what about RovosAir (www.rovosrail.co.za).

Thanks - was interested in that - or the Blue Train - but fancy a more aeronautical trip.

Are there any websites/companies for local pleasure flights or weekends to Vic Falls etc?

Thanks

Hi AlanM,

I saw an ad in the African Pilot Jan2003 about Rovos Rail, theyve converted a Convair 440 into a luxury airliner which they use to move passangers from Pietersburg to Vic Falls. Looks pretty impressive leather seats, wood trim, etc.
Ive scanned the ad you can check it out at www.dopke.eclipse.co.uk/rovos.htm

cheers

You could try SA Historic Flight.
www.historicflight.co.za
They operate a DC3 or two and a pair of DC4s and I think they might also be operating that DC6 from Namibia Comercial aviation if I'm not mistaken.
