Lightbulb

Heard something of a B190 crash, but the Ashanti Aviation plane (based in Ghana), pilots said: all went black in the cockpit, aborted take off and went right down the runway. This is unconfirmed info off course.

The aircraft is TF-LFQ and lies on the grass next to the western taxiway at Kinshasa minus gear, rumour has it aircraft lost it on landing role and went off the runway loosing its gear during an atempted landing during a thunderstorm, however looking at the aircraft seems a bit more than that as the wings and fuselage are wrinkled. Right prop lost all its blades, must have had quite some power on, don't know much more than that.
Pax were Air France crew being positioned for their flight form Libbreville.

Unhappy

Accidentally switching the power steering on and selecting park mode during rollout will produce an interesting landing roll as well, not that I would know from experience of course.....
Hope no one seriously hurt, and shame about the aircraft. Was it Ashanti's corporate 1900D?

Guys,
I Flew this A/C with Avirex. It is not equipped with powersteering. Though I heard it happened during landing and I can't see anything but flaps(apparently selected) up. Also, nosegear and main came off ?
Looks very clean.

Cool

Cheers Concordino!
Sorry to hear about the incident. I used to fly the 1900Cs and Ds for Rossair (DHL) out of Libreville, and the Avirex crews always looked very professional and their aircraft very clean.
Anyway, thanks for your reply!

NP.
