FAAircraft Interiors continues expansion march
Well-known Aircraft refurbishers, Lanseria-based FA Aircraft Interiors is continuing their aggressive expansion campaign with the March acquisition of Rand-based Skytrim. Skytrim’s proprietor, Rico Kruger, will join FAA’s board of directors.
The acquisition has been made to further extend FAA’s market share and to provide a convenient location for aircraft owners based at Rand. Skytrim has a dedicated aircraft spraypainting booth, which will be overseen by the company’s Sam van Aswegen.
The company has further joined the list of Gauteng aviation service providers extending operations to the Cape. FAA has a division specialising in repair and maintenance of life saving and safety equipment and will be using this experience to start a new branch at Saldanha Airport in the Western Cape.
The region is a busy shipping area, and FAA will be servicing Cape-based aviation companies as well as the maritime fishing industry. 36-year-old Mike Rentzke who originally comes from Saldanha will manage the new company to be called West Coast Aero Marine. Operations will begin during April 2003. FAA will be announcing further expansion plans during the beginning of April.
