Angry Another hughe coke bust at Jhb Int

An unemployed South African man has been arrested at Johannesburg International Airport after trying to walk through customs with 22kg of cocaine in his luggage.

Police spokesman Eugene Opperman said the 34-year-old man arrived on a flight from Sao Paulo, Brazil on Monday.

He was initially confronted by immigration officials, who believed he was trying to enter the country with a false passport. But then detectives from the South African Narcotics Bureau based at the airport decided to check his luggage.

The man appeared to have very little in his suitcase, but closer inspection led to the discovery of R9,9-million worth of cocaine hidden in false compartments, said Opperman.

The man is expected to appear in the Kempton Park Magistrate's Court on Thursday.

Was this for internal consumption in SA, or on its way to Europe?

22 keys is probably a "Personal Use" amount for some Noses Ive seen there......
I get a chuckle out of the articles when they say 22 Keys was found in "False Compartments"......Have you ever picked up an empty suitcase that weighed over 22 Kilos.......Thats a Sh1tp0t load of Coke for one dude to think he can walk in the door with.......
Remember Boys and Girls, if the Customs Dog Pees on your Luggage, your in for some real fun.........

I reckon the clamp down on security at Joburg is bearing fruit as even employees working airside is feeling the effect of more jacked up security.
