Nigerian Domestic Airline/Helicopter Situation ?
Been a while since the end of my 23 years in Nigeria, no doubt a lot has changed and I was wondering what is going on with domestic operations ? When I left (not planned, went home in pain and got a cancer diagnosis so couldn't return), the dominant airline was Arik. Aero had two dormant 737s, Overland was struggling with serviceability issues and crew shortage. I heard Aero had done some sort of deal to resurrect themselves quite recently ? Are Arik and Overland still operating ?
On the helicopter side it was a two horse show, Caverton and Bristow with Nestoil operating on the fringe. Based on what I can glean from Nigerian news feeds Caverton have all but taken over and left Bristow Nigeria in the dust. Is that still the case ? Are Nestoil still flying ? If so who are they supporting ?
Just curious, I have a lot of memories from Nigeria, almost all good.
