A warning to those who want to pursue a DASH-8 type rating through FLY540 Kenya. They charge 35-40k USD for a dash 8-type rating. Some pilots have been scammed by them losing ALL or most of their money.
They have a reputation to take your money and swindle you by either never sending you for SIM training, not giving you the hours you paid for, or just never seeing the cockpit of the real thing.
Pilots are overworked with no pay, Their aircraft are not well maintained (trainee pilot serves as the nonfunctioning autopilot), and there is also a racial/tribal factor in everything. The environment is extremely TOXIC!! From the Head of Ops, Chief Pilot, all the way to the CEO who is in on all the nasty !!!! going on there.
Passengers are also scammed BTW! (Check out their social media)
Just thought I would put this out there as a caution for those thinking about pursuing this scheme since these guys somehow keep getting away with the scam. Take Care.
