G-APIN - Destroyed Kamina 1961

Dear All,

I am interested to know more about G-APIN which was reportedly destroyed after being bombed at KAMINA in CONGO in 1961.

In particular I would be interested to know the details of the pilot, operator etc but all information is welcome.

The plane seems to be associated with a Liverpool based company called "Starways".

Best

Bill

Would appear to be no casualties?

That's right. Though UN reports from the time suggest that some people were flown to Leopoldville for treatment following the attack.

A couple of days previously the pilot reported that he was attacked at night by a Katangan Fouga and I am keen to trace that pilot if I can.
