Thats just the reality of the situation in Ethiopia right now. You can't seperate Ethiopian Airlines and Ethiopian CAA. Ethiopian CAA will roll over anytime Ethiopian Airlines needs something. Whatever it is. Captains can write as many reports to the CAA about unsafe procedures, scheduling, maintenance -you name it- as they want. Nothing, as in Nada,Zip... will be taken seriously by the CAA, if it could in any way compromise Ethiopian Airlines. There are many reasons that ET are expanding all over the place. And not many of them are good.

This is all over the news in Kenya with typicallly confused accounts of ATC chaos and near misses. As a frequent passenger between Addis and Nairobi, I would be interested in the pilots’ perception of the increased risk resulting from this mess?

A close call between ETH858 and NOS252 happened this week.

(As I am not allowed to post URLs, I can only provide a shortened version of the link, sorry)

Can someone explain to me how an RA happening over South West Kenya is the fault of the Addis area controllers?? The South bound traffic crossed into Kenya over 30 mins prior to the RA.
