what's happened to the hulks at LAD?

The one and only time I flew into Luanda, and it was as pax, in 1994, the runway was lined with hulks of crashed planes. The google earth view now shows them as gone. When did they clear these? And does anyone know anything of the stories underlying these hulks? I should have taken more notice at the time, but I recall, this being my first of many visits to Africa, being horrified at seeing so many crashed planes.

I worked in LAD for about 10 years and most of the hulks were old aircraft which could not be fixed, or had been abandoned when the cargo business folded, and yes some were left over from the war.
I looked at some serial numbers on the B727-100 and one was an ex Ansett aircraft but mostly from US assorted airlines. I looked to see if there was any from TAA, but none as I would have worked on it in a previous time.
When I left they were slowly cutting them up for scrap.
