Anoher storm at Maun

after a recent severe thunderstorm a few weeks ago, Maun once again hit by another severe but very localized thunderstorm. Heard a number of aircraft damaged, again. This time including a R44 and a DH82

No, they leave this to the new 200 hr wonders to do.

Do they tie these aircraft down? The wires are there on the ramp to do so.

Part of the Crete to Cape vintage Safari
The Tiger Moth was blown into the R44. The Tiger suffered wing and other damage whilst the (UK Registered) R44 suffered a hole in one of the blades .. which would require both blades to be replaced at circa STL 60K.
Talk is it may be written off by insurance

They are tied down... The first one snapped the wire.
Although there was a visiting van from Namibia that wasn't tied down and that got pushed into a C210.

Pretty insane pictures from the event!
