This is very saddening and frustrating news. Roger was an aviator well known to many in the East African helicopter scene, especially at Arusha airport and Nairobi Wilson airport.

Rest in piece, Roger


Goes to show what kind of a secret war is raging in East Africa, fostered by an inept and corrupt government for years with absolutely no interest in rooting out the problem and leaving the dirty work to underpaid Tanzanian wildlife rangers and private conservation funds like Roger worked for lately.

Sad to see this on the news tonight. I didn't know Roger but I take my hat off to him and the great work he was doing against poachers. Sorry to see you go but your deeds are much appreciated.
