Flydubai coming to South Africa

Hi all, Flydubai are coming to South Africa soon to conduct pilot selection - dates not yet firmed up.

Go to their careers website and apply. They are looking at both type rated and non-type rated guys for FO positions. Only type rated guys (B737-3/4/5/NG) for direct entry Capt positions.

This is a unique opportunity for guys at Link, SAX, Star Air cargo, Cemair, Solenta etc. to get onto a Boeing. Pay and conditions are very good.

I fly for Flydubai (FZ) so any questions feel free to ask and I will try be as candid and helpful as possible. Good luck boys (and girls).

LOL- doesn't look like many takers FZ would be better of advertising pilot vacancies in the Sunday crimes or Airnews , Flight international etc....

@ Yolandiedutoit:

Good luck with your application. The interview process is based on a series of group exercises followed by a pilot aptitude test and then one-on-one interviews. Basically don't study technical stuff for this. Your preparation should be orientated around team work in the group exercises and think about how you would answer their questions. Also, go online and use a pilot aptitude test software package to prepare you for that test - loads of people come short with this. There is a long and very detailed thread here on pprune which gives a lot of good gen on the interviews.

Otherwise, I thoroughly enjoy the company, pay is very good, routes are....interesting, people are mostly fantastic and Dubai is really what you make of it. Sorry for being so short but each point made here could become a discussion on its own. In short, it's worth considering and if you get in you would be crazy to turn it down purely because of the type and the quality of training you would receive.

Incorrect info

Negative. They are NOT coming to South Africa...yet.

I got an email from them, stating that they MIGHT come to South Africa, should enough interest be shown. At best, three to four months from now. In the meantime, I have managed to move my screening from Southampton to SA, in case they do come.

There may also be a pilot, that departed off contract, for a 'medical emergency' who was then spotted riding his Harley three days later back in SA....

Passed a FZ interview, yet forgot to give proper notice and pay back what he owed....

Then FZ asks for a character reference, from the previous employers HR, CP, RPFO.

Now, is telling the truth, and sabotage, the same thing ? By default, you then sabotaged yourself, not so ? And then come crawling back to pay your training bond, if the employer would change your reference ?

Enjoy unemployment
