Well done to you and your staff for rescuing the injured. Indeed it doesnt take a pilot to realise that a bad decision was made and a tailwind take off was initiated. This "pilot" Matambula, is well known for his arrogance and blatant disregard for safety and being complacent. I fly in Tanzania and most of us have had encounters with him.
Glad nobody was killed. And the TCAA will no doubt cover it up as they do with all the other crashes involving local operators, and mostly local PIC's.

To daladaladiver...
well said on your comments regarding the PIC. I see you must be a fellow aviator around these parts? Ur so right, he remains planted in that seat, but if there is a fire, he's the first one out.
A bit like the moron who planted a B200 in Lake Manyara recently, after doing a wheels up in the same plane in Mtwara, plus many other accidents.
TCAA cover up again . . .

Heya launchpad, i sure am and loving it. Even after the dude who ditched the B200 lost his license, he still came back to the office to try and pick up some flights... insisting on flying... he'd clearly lost his mind. Haha.

To Ninethreekilo:
Its pretty clear you can not read at all!
I said I tried my best to call my staff back from the burning wreckage, but they were determined to go in. What could I do? Yes, they ARE very brave men! Unlike a troll like you who safely takes Pot shots from behind his computer. My guys are bravely with me with charging lions, elephants, buffalos, leopards. Yes, they are VERY BRAVE TANZANIAN MEN! Please don't call them stupid. I am very proud of them!

The Flylink guys chatted only about 10 mins while their plane was loaded by doctors with the two injured guys and the "pilot". What's so strange about that????

I can not post my many photos of the wreck, as it won't let me post attachments.

BTW: To date, not one word or single appology from SHINE AVIATION to their badly injured American passenger!! He told me he tried to contact them, but nothing. Just like there was no appology or word from their weird "Pilot" after the crash whatsoever! Should be SHAME not SHINE.

What is it with African pilots laughing about accidents and incidents??? This is the 2nd time in less than a week I've heard this about separate incidents. I've witnessed this firsthand last year too. Truly bizarre behavior, a major lack of accountability and blatant arrogance. Even a dressing down from aviators of his nation couldn't turn his grin upside down. Just weird...

SHAME aviation... a very fitting company name for them. Still no apology?!... shame we in africa because anywhere else that pilot would be charged with "gross negligence" (gross incompetence really) and Shine would be facing a lawsuit...

And Tropical Air couldn't find it with a G1000 Van and the actual pilot who crashed the 5H-KEN. Bravo guys...

Ground Control to Major Porini

Porini, are you still active? TZ based?

Do you still have photos of the Shine Aviation incident you were witness to?
