Ouga?
Two years old experience Iīm afraid, but it was not too bad. There have been some episodes, when the military was not paid on time, but otherwise just normal security measures.

The Palace Hotel is high standard, but not in town, so the restaurants are limited and the hotel is about 160 dollars a night. Azalai has better location, a garden and a pool. Use the insect spray, cover up at dusk with light coloured clothes, long sleeves and socks!

Cafe Vienne is an oasis.

Here I am not too helpful, as I cannot remember the names precisely, but there is a colourful market, a great outdoors pizza place off a large round-a-bout,
and the truly epic French restaurant in a lovely garden. Walking distance from Azalai, left out of the hotel, cross I think two streets, turn left and it is on the right. Owner has a BMW motorcycle parked out side usually. Michael. Tell him you are a pilot and send there by other pilots. It might be called something like The Olive tree...... He was considering building several bungalows for guests.

The city is not "pretty," but there are some lovely places outside of town. Rural people are more friendly. The usual about being careful, watch for small motorcycles coming up behind you, cars slowing....be aware, donīt carry a lot of cash in one place.. Normal African drill.

...and donīt fly there if your boss is named Marcel!

Bobo Dioulasso is a very pleasant place to stop. The airport is very well equipped, clean and pleasant. Police and Customs genuinely friendly and not after bribes. Nice hotel just a few minutes away.
