Accommodation during training
I live fairly close to a training centre and was astounded to hear from some staff that out of town and foreign students wishing to do advanced training were being turned away as local guesthouses insisted on charging R800 - R1000 per night which is way out of reach for most budgets. I am considering building / converting my extra space into lodgings. I would be most grateful for an idea of what a reasonable rate is for the following accom:
8m by 3m bedsit with ensuite shower
a communal kitchen and lounge alongside swimming pool
a dedicated aviation area for flight planning etc
Breakfast and another meal a day
High speed internet access
Shuttle service to local airport

Since your success might well depend on the advertising and goodwill from the nearby training centre, why not approach them with the idea of pooling your resources and eventually marketing a complete training package. I believe that at Grand Central and Vereenigeng there are schools that have their recommended lodging providers. I should have thought that many overseas students would have appreciated a one stop shop.
