Embraer Bandeirante crash FBFT Botswana

A Bandeirante crashed short of Francistown on Saturday, details very sketchy. If correct, Captain of the aircraft was one of best most experienced Zim Pilots I know of. A tragic day enroute to the DRC

My deepest sympathy goes out to the crew, yes very experienced I would think is an under estimation. They were good mates as well as customers of mine at FVCP.

Angel Rob and Lindy

I had once again of meeting Rob Tasker & Lindy Brooks onthe 15th of June 2013,

they were flying via Inverness Airport Scotland where I work

The pair of them even though now gone to Heaven left a piece of them here at Inverness ever since they were part of the Batman movie filming here years ago.

I was very pleased to see them as were many others at the airport although they were only passing through, we Talked and laughed over Teaand shortbread I felt I had to share the great impression they made on me.

They were the greatest of people and my greatest sympathy goes to the next of kin

Yup, sadly it is Rob Tasker.

Not much news but what little there is might implicate inclement weather ...

Here, here and here.

Flew Lanseria to Lubumbashi with fuel stop in Francistown. Approached on one runway and went missed due mist and attempted approach for reciprocal and ATC contact was lost. Wreckage found 10km from runway in wooded area some hours later. Sounds like they survived initially but past away on the way to hospital or at hospital.

Very sad and tragic news! They were well known en well liked by all and will be truly missed! Rob was a legend and a gentleman and a instructor to so many and will leave a beautiful legacy! Lindy was a hoot! They did so well together! Strongs to all touched by this tragic event!

Its a shocker. I've been fairly shaken by the news - when your initial instrument rating instructor dies in an air accident its like Yoda being snuffed out. His effort, knowledge and talent in the area of instruction lives on in his many students around the world.

My thoughts are with both their families.
