Foreigners Working in Nigeria Killed.

Pilots are "HIGH VALUE TARGETS FOR KIDNAPPING". As we read constantly, there are kidnappings of foreigners for profit. One wanders what the responsibilities are for the companies that employ Pilots, and others, are, in these countries. Please see the link

Not in Nigeria....there are more high value guys than pilots because of the oil and gas industries. Most companies are even struggling to pay their pilots....the kidnappers won't want liability. Remain calm pilots. No cause for may-day may-day

A few kobos dropped

Do not overnight in the Core North trouble spots
Kano, Bauchi, Maiduguri, Kaduna, Katsina, Sokoto.

Be cautious in Abuja

Stay in secure "Boutique" Hotels

Do not call attention to yourself...or crew.

Be "sensible" about your movement.

What makes you think pilots are "high value"? Aviation companies would never pay a ransom. Most would just hire another pilot and charge you for the admin costs.

Nigerian Thugs

Local Pilots may not be high value, however expats who fly private jets for wealthy oil and gas, banks , ect… surely are besides their families would pay up to get them released on top of their employers.

Be careful out there and yes insist on major hotel chains, not the Governors guest house. I know Iv’e been there...

"Oh, terribly sorry, we won't be paying any ransom, there simply isn't any room in the budget, but if you could please pass on a message to the poor soul that as they will no longer be employed by us they have broken their contract and are therefore liable for the bond, we'll be sure to send an invoice"
