GCAA has just (2 months ago) changed the format and study guide for this exam, so make sure you have the right one. I know an experienced Captain who went to the exam last month with the old study guide and failed by a whisker.
If you are in Accra, you can probably get samples of the new syllabus by going to GCAA Personnel Licensing Department and talking to John Aryeetey. He is usually very helpful and can advise more on the validation/conversion process.
If you can't get hold of the study guide or sample exam, brush up on the Ghana AIP and the relevant GCARs. Those, combined with solid fundamentals, should be enough to get you through.
The exam is big on multiple choice questions where the devil lies in the details, so make sure you read everything through twice.
Good luck!
