Anyone else in Lusaka

Howzit guys

I'm about to come over to Zambia to start work with a charter company based in Lusaka (Proflight).

I'm going to be based at Tafika lodge for the season, but just wondered if there was anyone else flying out that way. I'm in Lusaka from 1 May.

Maybe we could meet up for a castle, and you can give me the lowdown on the place.

THanks

JF

Cool

Jockflyer- Welcome to Zambia

Great Camp. You are really going to enjoy it, but a liitle bit distant from the social life of Mfuwe. Ask John if you can borrow the microlite to hop to the parties. (Wildlife Camp on the the river is NOT named after the game)
There are going to be more pilots than ever at Mfuwe this year.
Jo Popes pilot, Ryan, will be at Nkwali and we will have 3 Caravan pilots on rotation based near the airport.
Presume you are flying the C206.
Shame you missed the joys of Old Lukuzi Airstrip. Go and have a look at it when you arrive. Will give you a great appreciation of the new Lukuzi you will be using.
Look forward to seeing you during the season

You'll definitely enjoy it. The Mozi beer is very good aswell. Especially the cockroach at the bottom of the bottle!?

People are a lot friendlier in that part of the world!

Hi jockflyer ,

You are going to be busy up north with Proflight as they have open a sister company in MALAWI and will use the C206 a lot this side like last year. Other pilots are going to be based in Mfuwe and the Proflight pilot who was doing your job is going to be in Lilongwe .

The company currently employs 5 pilots ( 3 kiwis , 1 South African and a local guy ) , they are all very friendly .

No problem for a castle or a Mosi and a lowdown on the palce call me at 097 87 1404.

Welcome in Zambia ,

GUSTO

Cool

The good news is that Lusaka International is to receive a major upgrade. New radar is to be installed, the runway lights will be upgraded and the runway is to be renovated. Livingstone International is also going to receive some much needed attention!

Now that the sun is actually shining over here, I could really use an ice cold Mosi.............

Thanks for the reply folks.

I look forward to meeting you all sometime. I'll be the new guy, so please introduce yourself if you see me. There can't be many Scotsmen out there, so I should be pretty obvious (no I won't have my kilt on, mores the pity)

I'm a friend of Daryll Jenkins, he helped get me the job, maybe some of you knew him.

Anyway, hope to share a beer with you soon.

Can't wait.

Hi Mark!!
Great to see you again the other day! I guess by now you are in "Zambia in the Sun" downing a few Mosis....
Hope you enjoy it out there and fly your butt off. Please pass on my regards to everyone, especially Tony and John.
Hope the GPS works, certainly will make finding Chimbwi and Waka Waka etc a little easier!! Keep in touch and let me know if I can be of any help.......and have a Mosi for me, nothing over here seems to come close, although I obviously keep the search going on!!
Cheers,
NP.
