GECAS plan to reposses 4 Boeing 737-300's

A little bird told me recently, that Lufthansa Technik (part supplier for Air Nigeria) is going to pick up all their pool parts stored in LOS, due to aicraft handbacks of four aircrafts to its lessor.............

Rightly so, considering how JI treated the union guys who've apparently been sacked.

I guess the ex-finance director's predictions and infos are turning out to be true afterall.

I wonder what next. Maybe now that Egypt has a new sense of leadership direction, EgyptAir might also recall its Airbus. ed

With Air Nigeria looking increasingly unlikely to resume normal operations any time soon and with even the international flights possibly being terminated soon, is any other airline likely to be taking over the West African destination network formerly operated by Air Nigeria? Even Aero Contractors now only offers flights to Accra and Arik only offering flights on the westbound routes to Dakar, is there any airline now offering flights to destinations south or eastbound like Malabo, Douala, Luanda or do passengers have to fly all the way to Europe and then back to get there?

Lol@ do passengers have to fly to Europe then get back there. There are indications that aero contractors are about to go regional. They are expecting some 737's and Q400's. But when we see it is when we believe. Even though they are trying to get pilots now

Pot calling the kettle black!!!

Sometimes I just wonder.....

Been away for a short break with family but, though, been checking on the fellas at VK..... cos I've been in this industry in Nigeria for a while now and I think I have a tiny bit of experience in it. Call me whatever you may like but that's it.

I can confirm that 4 of their airplanes owned by GECAS have been withdrawn and from what I gather Aero are negotiating for the lease (don't blame Aero I gather all their B737-500 are due for some big check and they can't afford it so they must go.....sadly the -500 dirty deal was pulled off by the Ibru clan...) also more 737s from VK are also to be returned to its owner.

This will leave Jimoh with about 5 aircrafts and the soon to arrive A330 for the SA route. Well considering the fact that some airlines in Naija operate with less air crafts than that I am not too concerned.

I also gather he has instructed his management team to downsize drastically before operations can restart ....... now that got me thinking.

Were I worry is the fact that he has not paid salaries since may.....but with what I've said earlier I think I have a little idea of what Jimoh is up to.....

Also and interestingly I gathered that apart from the guys who left VK for Aero a few of their F/Os and ex Naape officials have magically found their way into Arik and Aero...how amazing... just when I felt they would hold tight and keep up the struggle for the nearly 900 staff they supposedly were fighting for ...even after the sack...somebody
please ask ...Naape what are they doing concerning VK.....shame....

To those of them joining ARIK I must warn you we go through the same issues as VK....for example late salaries and our chairman is no better than Jimoh believe me.....and concerning my neighbors Aero well ...... no comments.....

So guys the struggle continues for VK and for the rest of us....

If anyone has anything good to say here about Arumemi of Arik or Cecelia and her Clan I'm all ears ....can't wait.

Personally the fall of VK will not have a good impact on our industry..actually we stand to loose a lot .........

Goodluck to u all at VK and good riddance to NAAPE .....

It is still a mess

@Balewa, carefully structured and written words sir. I can actually confirm the vk and even Dana guys have swamped both aero and arik, actually choking the guys with low hour time which are about to start. No management system is pure on Nigeria. From aviation, to banks to the Nigerian Government.......

I didn't gather till recently that the Ibru clan own top brass. Wonders....

Much to be desired in your thread but some elements just cant be explained in Nigeria. All Naape executives that were fired are all humans, and they had the mandate of both Naape members and other Air Nigeria staff to dialogue with management on their behalf. which they did pretty well too without any regrets.

On the day they were fired from Air Nigeria, Jimoh Ibrahim called a town hall meeting and addressed all staff members and Nobody stood up for the guys that were fired, they were left in the cold. All Naape offered those guys was to go and beg Jimoh Ibrahim for their jobs back. People were scared of losing jobs, and could not even stand up to support the fired guys. So you tell me what their options were? The did the only thing they could do,which was to look for another Job.

Thumbs up

"All Naape offered those guys was to go and beg Jimoh Ibrahim for their jobs back."

pressurization junky from the beginning of their so called strike action those guys were on their own.....

Sadly I believe they did not understand the mago mago of NAAPE or whatever they call themselves and their so-called national officials.....

I have been around these parts for a while now and from past experience with them and that their union nothing good ever comes out of it...just take a look at their executives and tell me if these guys have any bizness running the show.... or even putting out a good show......They have No backbone and do not have what it takes....

Sadly this is what our industry has come to in Nigeria just like many other things in this country ..........hijacked by persons who have NO BIZNESS in this profession or industry.

That is why I now walk the silent path in this industry

Fly Safe..

Jimoh still flying the flag with his Egyptian accomplices trying to create a scenario that all is well while the domestic operations slowly dwindles to a close.

Salaries not been paid for months nearly a thousand workers Left to rot and he grins with glee as his masterplan comes together for the complete closure of a once well positioned and enviable Nigerian Airline.

Let No one forget that name "Jimoh Ibrahim" cos it's not over until the fat lady sings...

The **** will one day hit the fan Jimoh....... one day soon.

Once again hang in there guys and hope for the best.
