1000 hour bush pilot rule in Africa

I wonder if anyone knows about which countries signed up to this rule and which ones opted out. I was in Africa a couple of years ago looking for mysterious almost extinct "first job." I was told that most African countries require pilots to have 1000hrs to fly in the bush.
Any information or where to find this information would be appreciated.

Some countries do have a law that says that for license converstion to protect locals.

Others its purely because of the insurance hike that having a sub 1000 PIC flying.

I went to Zambia a couple of years ago looking for a job, hard to find information, I was just told most African countries now have this rule. I know Botswana doesn't, hence the Maun situation every year. I was just wondering if anyone knew how to find out which countries have rules.
This would narrow down my options.

You will struggle to find a list I suspect.
