Exception to SA citizenship requirement

What I gather from a few of these posts is that SAA has and will make exceptions to the South African citizenship requirement for employment. Is this a true statement? Please correct me if I misunderstood.

No exceptions to the citizenship requirement . You MUST be a south African citizen or Burger ....LOL

What is now the lastest with recruiting of pilots at SAA? I believe about 40 odd already been interviewed.
