We supplement our Jepp charts with ONCs and the more-zoomed-in Tactical Navigation Charts (TACs? Can't recall the acronym.) Most of them are years old, but most have basic airstrip locations, and (when mapped) major terrain features. Don't know of a supplier on your side of the pond...

Travelman, as you give your location as LGW - Stanford's in Covent Garden, London, have (or at least used to have) the ONC and TNC charts as well as the Michelins. I doubt you'll find anything better than a mix of these.

Stanfords still does aviation charts. It is well worth a visit. I was in there this week, I always go in there when I am near Covent Garden. They supply all sorts of maps and equipment to expeditions worldwide. It is also one of the best travel bookshops in the UK. Covent Garden tube station is the closest, 3 minute walk. Highly recommend it.
