XII Category and Types PPL

Hi All,
I have sent a an email to sacaa at midrand,but maybe someone on this forum can answer this query. I was checking my student licence and under "XII Category and Types" I have C150 NIL,C152 NIL.
Will this have any effect with regards to myself flight training on a PA-28 Warrior or Cessna 172 ? Thanks,

Not if your training is done dual. You can fly anything then. As far as acting as PIC then only as indicated on your student licence.

Before you sent an e mail to the CAA, what did your instructor tell you?

sacaa midrand walkin

Hi All,
Any advice with regards to sacaa,midrand.would it be possible to have my type rating up dated as a walkin,I understand they are open from 08:00 until 14:00hrs,I spoke with them on the phone today from my home in scotland,but my accent was proving to be an issue I guess with the licencing person I was chatting with,all I want to to do is have my student licence updated to include PA-28 & C172.At the moment I have C150 NIL C152NIL,thanks,

Forgive me for being so dumb as to think that if your Student Pilot Licence (SPL) is endorsed with C150 Nil and C152 Nil, then you may fly neither of those aircraft solo? If that is correct then what aircraft is on your student pilot licence for solo privileges?
I don't know that the CAA would update a type rating on an SPL and I certainly wouldn't have thought they'd have done so without some form of paperwork such as a conversion form from your flight school;
There must be those out there with more up to date information as to the modern vagaries of SPLs.
If you are trying to get the South African SPL extended in its range of types so that you can fly a PA28 or a C172 in Scotland then I wouldn't even want to guess at the international ramifications of that.
Surely the best thing for you to do is to telephone your South African flight instructor and if he doesn't know, speak to the CFI, for there must be one of those?
