There was an interview with him on the radio last night, he said that he wanted to pursue family interests and support his sons in their business ventures. He sounded pretty jovial and upbeat and expressed no regrets for his time in the airline industry.

What's really behind it we will never know but I have my suspicions!

Its human nature to fear change. Change should not always be associated with dark clouds rolling in. 1Time has "a few months left" is as old as the airline itself. I do acknowledge 1Time is not in the best financial position at the moment but show me an airline that is. The new CEO I've been told is a man with a plan and all my mates at the airline have only positive things to say about him. I'm sure there's light at the end of the tunnel that should quite most of the dooms day prophets. (not all but most) Losses should be posted this year still by most airlines. SA aviation must do their best to ride out the storm for the sake of all of us.

That is not the light at the end of the tunnel, it is an oncoming train.

It seems to me that company is positioning itself for major change by reshuffling the top deck. I wouldn't be surprised if more changes are announced over the next few months.

This is a good move. The "Mafia" days are over! The Airline will go forward with competent people in the directive positions which will ensure the airlines survival. I believe the DFO & some of the directors were ex mechanics with no degrees. Most Airlines, the DFO & directors hold MBA's. Well done and good luck 1Time.

Ah yes!
I wish 1Time the best from my heart.
I'm not sure why, but I have such a tender spot for this airline.
I've flown with them as pax several times and their style just seems to work for me.

New investor for 1time
1TIME Airline has confirmed that it is in talks with a major international investor looking to buy into the low-cost carrier.

Group ceo, Blacky Komani, said the airline couldn’t confirm who the investor was but mentioned it was an aviation company and said an announcement was expected this month.

The group has also announced plans to restructure its board. Blacky told TNW the resignation of 1time founder and former ceo, Rodney James, enabled the airline to re-examine its structure. “It gave us an opportunity to question whether we really need three ceos and three financial directors, and we are now down to one of each.”
