Dear all
I have just relocated to Accra to fly a private jet and will be bringing the wife and 3 little ones out in a month or so.
Yes I see you can buy whatever you need . . . . . but the prices! Think I'll be ferrying shed-loads of nappies every time I have a flight to Europe or SA. Put in your orders now.
I realise that our quality of life will depend a lot on the people we meet here. Are there any expat (british, South African, French) websites where people meet up and sell second hand cars etc. I have found Accraexpat. Any specific clubs people go to?
Where should I find a house? Thinking of East Legon for the French school but would also like a compound as I'll be out of Accra for 4 days a week.
Will keep looking for a reasonably priced 4x4, as I'm looking forward to heading down the coast.
Cheers

Accra is quite pleasant...... With regards to your quest for a car and accommodation why not seek advise from your local colleagues at the airport.
A bunch of great guys out there, have flown and hung out with a bunch of them. I'm sure they will be able to point you in the right direction.
Nothing wrong with a stroll across the ramp for a quick hello and howz it going guys....
Have a good time.......

If I had to leave South Africa , Ghana would be my second choice in Africa..
Ghanaians are friendly and courteous . Ghana is probably safer than SA though.....
