G'day people,

Could anyone help me out with Kenyan AirLaw CPL material for the purpose of a Validation of a South African into a Kenyan licence.

Thanks

Hi guys -

Moving to Nakuru in Feb / March. Keen to see if I can convert my SA PPL, hence Ive come across your discussion. Whilst at it I may as well research the CPL requirements in case I can gain some ad hoc Com hrs.

Would you mind if I could have a copy of that material too pls.

send me a pm...

Also, from what I heard, you have to have the right to work to convert your license. I know of one person that converted their license on their own, but they already had the right to work and a job lined up. All the others I knew of were employed by a local company when they got a license conversion.

You do not need a job to convert your licence!
You do need a work permit to fly for hire or reward..

On the paperwork that had to be turned in to the KCAA, you had to include your passport or your right-to-work documentation. So, while you did't need a job, you had to have the right to do a job to get your licenses converted...maybe things are different now.

Thanks Gents;

From what you are saying I would need a motivation letter from a company to convert my CPL to KCAA? I suppose one way of connecting the dots would be to kindly ask for a "right to work" letter from a charter company along the lines of "employment subject to license conversion?"

In any case I will convert my PPL / IF for some hour building and recency requirements. I would hate the CPL to lapse for an extended period of time; Id rather avoid further examinations!

And if I could have a KCAA CPL in hand, I may just be in the right place at the right time one day.

Thanks -
I shall keep my eye on this thread for developments.

Much appreciated;
