Tech Stop in Khartoum or El Obeid Sudan

Hello, looking for some tech stop info at Khartoum or El Obeid. Stop and go only, no night stop. Any info most appreciated.

If arriving from outside the country it would have to be Khartoum for formalities.

Khartum definitely. El Obeid is not good even as alternate if you are not familiar with the area. Port Sudan is a place to go if Khartum weather turns bad.

My info is bit old but I don't think things improved much.

I was in and out of Khartoum in 45 mins a few days ago. We had a booking through a handling agent and the fuel arrived on time and the flight plan dissapeared with same agent and we were gone in 45 min. Quite painless actually.

I agree with flox - if there's a haboub in Khartoum there's a good chance there's one in El Obeid too - use Port Sudan. In Khartoum, if the weather is marginal or night, watch out for the road on the left (if landing to the south) it has better lights than the runway - don't land on it

Khartoum

Recommended handling service is ASAH (spelling?). Fuelling and payment of fees is done quite efficiently; all is paid in cash; landing fee c525, 4800 kg mtow, around 700 USD.

Cool

We can help with Sudan, or indeed anywhere in Africa.

Fly safe, Sam.
