Rumor goes they are starting their aborted ops again... But as of today the fleet is standing idle on the apron... Would be hard for you to land a job with them with no time on type unless you are a national citizen.

SonAirs 1900's and Twotters are crewed by Zimex Aviation of Zurich, you should send your cv there, fill out the online application.

Min time is 3000 hours ICAO ATP and about 1000 on type, 500 PIC. Plus you should also be a really nice chap with lots of contract/bush flying experience etc etc.

Also helps if you know people in the company and have good references.

Hope this helps.

Max

Just for the record.. Zimex require a JAA ATPL.. an associate company (AMS ?) does accept FAA but only in extremis and I believe they're phasing them out. That may not be wholly up to date.. As always, I'm willing to learn.

I'm 1100 tt and with 17 hrs on B1900 so don't meet those requirments I guess.

Also British, but hold a South Arfica and Tanzania lic. I never got around to the JAA lic. Maybe next year

The search goes on ,,, Africa's big, must be something somewhere for me

Just BTW - concerning Zimex - they are not looking for 1900 pilots for the time being.

For the record Sonair DHC6 and Beech 1900D aircraft are crewed by a mix of local Sonair pilots and expats from AMS Zurich, not Zimex

Dunno if I remember right but heli ops at Sonair used to be provided by foreign companies only (about 2 or 3 years ago)
