Camair ... ?
Hi ..
I always thought the Camair (B767) contract in Duala looked interesting ... ?
How are the Captains and F/O's finding it ... accommodation ? salary on time ?
commuting ? lifestyle ? A/C etc .. ?
If anyone out there has any feedback I would be grateful ... ?

Well the contract for Camairco on both 767 and 737 is very lucrative for expats in fact it's one of the best pay for pilots around the world €10000/month which comes on time as most of them are contracted through agencies(Parc Aviation)etc... With accomodation in very good hotels altogether with rotations, however the local drivers are paid like !!!! and keep complaining about it.Give it a bash

They pay expats wayyy too much and locals wayyy too little I mean 900 euros a month! Come on!
The expat Flight attendants earn 3000 euros a month. Something wrong?

@ kittycat is Douala such a bad place to be paid that much?the issue here like 737NG said expats are paid way more than locals for the same job,as for the expats cabin crews their contracts were terminated early this month it's 100% cameroonian cabin service. To make matters worse the expats cabin crew were earning more than local pilots

In fact
What better way to create an exodus (later on) than to have such a gap between locals and expatriates...And the same airline will start complaining that the locals leave for the middle east even though they trained them for "free".

It already started as one local driver jumped ship for greener pasture and was trained free, management came up with a silly idea of giving every local drivers a bond to sign as they've got no clue on pilot management,a bond is no guarantee that the guys stay

LMAO
Well I guess he beat you all to it!
But I hear things are getting a little better for the airline, a few more passengers, more routes, less unneccessary spending, and a triple seven coming up! How about that for a change.

The top management is commited to make it work, especially by looking at what went all wrong from the start but they should make communication a priority otherwise it's going to be very hard.As for the 777 I also heard it from the grapevine but nothing official yet

Seems to have vanished from Contractair's & PARC's websites, which would seem to suggest. . . . too late
A PM I received suggested the recent 737 vacancies were due to the locals "promoting" themselves onto Dee Big Bird, & that situation would only change if the rumour of a 777 came to fruition (& an even bigger toy was available) so think it is over for the moment.

Captplaystation I'm currently in DLA and a few days ago I saw a few pilots coming out of recurrent training from the local CAE Global academy campus. They were all expats so you should look deeper into this.

OK, but, 737/767? as I heard the locals were taking all the 767 vacancies now, which was the one that Iron Duke was interested in.
Have you gone there ? I thought of it, but didn't like the new accomodation deal (don't really want to share my apartment with another pilot, particularly a non-foxy variety !
) if so, let me/us know how it goes

More speculative than anything else ... looked like a good number, and was wandering if there were still options ?? Europe is rapidly going down the plug hole !!
Happy landings ...
