Kenya .( update )

Although that post was very useful in 2011 , the Kenya paragraph needs a little tweaking .
Firstly , owing to the security warnings , Kenya has experienced a huge downturn in tourist numbers and this has affected the aviation sector too .
Kenya Airways are hurting , and there is talk of pilot layoffs to go with current airframe mothballing . This will release even more Kenya Citizens back into the already congested GA market .
Secondly , the KCAA Licencing Department has taken upon itself to act in cahoots with the Immigration Department . The chances of a non- Kenyan having a work permit issued with the word Pilot on it are infinitessemal .

Kenya is still a great place to fly , one of the best really , but the doors are closing unless you have special skills / type ratings , and someone who has clout with Immigration batting for you .
