Heard a little rumour a few nights ago regarding the aircraft at Mango. Was told that Saa would be taking them back because of problems on their own side due to aircraft leaving cos of leases not been signed.
Now, if Saa take all there '800's that leaves Mango with nothing... this means they might have to start looking for new aircraft soon. I do really find this hard to believe but then again anything is possible.
I do reiterate that this was a RUMUOR i heard so it might be complete bollocks.
Is there anyone who could shed more light on this little development?

Its all Roses and Champaign between SAA and Mango at the moment. Certain personalities at SAA who were very anti Mango have moved on, also SM and NB are big mates as is the new Head of Commercial. You can see this in recent developments; 5th 800 goes to Mango, DUR to CPT route withdrawal by SAA- passing on the pax to Mango etc...
Expect more and much closer cooperation going forward.

Guys, Im afriad its a very boetie boetie set up. One gets the impression that the place is part of the SAA retirement plan. Seems ok for FO's but without any jet time (it appears they specifically want "larger" jet experience) you had better have a good connection internally.

Mango rumours reality
Well guys sometimes I enjoy pprune and some times I dont ,this is one of them. i work for mango, here some facts. SAA have subleased the 5th acft to us and is in for paint and refurbish, mango has not taken a direct entry captain from the "old boy club" in 2 yrs, with 1 exception, scully. The last 4 capatin where co-pilots upgarde and they are busy upgrading 5 new FO's as we speak. They have just employed 7 new FO's for new acft. They do not want to go airbus route even if SAA do, but that might change only after current contact expires.
hope that clears up few things. Do they have internal politicsa, for sure but then show me a airline that doesnt???

Know quite a few crew there and they seem pretty happy!
No night stops, pretty decent roster, no more DECs, lots of new FOs being employed and rumours of another 2 800s in October.
Pay might not be the best, but then they are flying a decent aircraft on decent routes.
Pretty friendly on the radio and they seem to be pretty professional. I do know that they did not paid a bonus last year, but then they werent the only airline not to get one!
