I'm based in lusaka and this is the first I've heard of it. Nobody else on the ground seems to know anything either. If it is happening maybe it's from the russian side. Don't see how there would be any market for this though?

I will warn you guys with low time, and eager to get in a seat.

Stay away from Equatorial Guinea. Tango Airways will not pay you. They are currently looking for MD80 pilots. Why?, because all but two of their pilots have left due to non payment of salary to all their crews.

Dana airways of Nigeria is another one out there. After their crash 6 month ago, they are restarting the company, but have the *&%$ to ask for $15,000USD to allow someone to work there, with no guarantee that they (the company) will be there in 6 months. Be real careful guys.

(Relatively!) Experienced pilot chances of work in Africa?

Hi all,

I've got 3000hrs total, with 2000hrs multi engine, 650hrs on king airs and 500hrs on a F406. All mainly around Europe with a European CPL/IR.

I know this has been done to death, but most links are getting fairly old now. I was wondering if I could get an update on T&C's/pay flying around Tanzania/Kenya on turbo props, also, with my experience could I get work in those areas fairly easily or not really? Would I be looking at starting with everyone else on singles and working my way back onto the turbo props?

Many thanks

Same questions as wingisland pretty much. I've got a total of 3700 hrs, most of that on 737. CPL. Looking to get away from airline flying. Anyone with info on hiring please feel free to PM me. Thanks, Speedy

500 ME
700 Tailwheel
130 Ski
2200 PIC

FAA and CDN ATP with EMB 500 type rating my US ATP

Africa experience (Maun 1995 and Namibia / SA 2012)
Extensive bush / tailwheel experience
Class 1 medical and current TC IFR Class I rating

Any thoughts on where to look in French West Africa or Ghana or similar for good biz av or airline gig in growth economy? I can't tell by sites like pilotcareercentre and similar if an expat stands a snowballs chance. Also... Nigeria has great biz av opportunities, but if you don't have a JAA license are you doomed only to fly Nigerian reg'd a/c?

To those who have flown in africa.

Hi there, im new in the forum and a low timer for now (about 330TT / 230single engine hours) but most of my flying hours are in aerobatics with Rv-6 and Yak-52 and operating in short fields because of my bush flying and glider pilot hours in central Spain (with Do-27, Pa-18, C-172 and gliders). Is it better to have tis kind of experience in order to get hired? or they are going to see only 230 single engine hours no matter the plane?

The Beer....

is certainly not that expensive here in Dakar. So, if you land here, that problem is solved. Beer is also pretty good quality.

Hi

Hello Hawker800

I think I missed half of your message...

"is certainly not that expensive here in Dakar. So, if you land here, that problem is solved. Beer is also pretty good quality."

Was there anything else said in your message ???
