So what's your problem Flightcomputer? Foreigners working in TZ or the fact that no-one is handing out free ratings to low time Tanzanian pilots? In the ideal World it would be preferable if we didn't buy our ratings - I haven't yet. But what's the difference between that and buying your PPL & CPL? Or was that handed to you on a plate?
As to anti-foreigner violence in Kenya, I never came across any animosity in 10 years there! Stop spreading lies.
There are many more Africans working in Europe & America than vice versa - get over yourself.

Yeah man no offense though but be very careful sometimes when u r commenting something on internet, remember that out of 100% of pilots registered in Tanzania, there are only 45% who are Tanzanians so far and according to statistics the number will drop to about 25% for Tanzanians in the next 5 years or so due to availability of initial training for CPL here,
So my point is that don't blame foreigners who are more than us already in the industry, blame the Government or other instituations for not sponsoring new pilots no wonder they are here before you, we need this expertises to keep our aviation world alive.
Nb: If you can't beat them, be with them...

hi
Hello,
I personally met one guy on 8th May, 2011, who is working in operation department of Zan air To find out pilot jobs in Tanzania and reply was bit interesting. he gave me few airlines name where we can pay for the type rating and start flying for 1 year and 2 years of contract plus salary is obvious. So planing to go to Tanzania and visit them.
Any comments on that.?
Any other small charter companies are hiring low time pilots right now??
thnak you all.

The good thing for Tanzanians is that the foreign pilots are transient here and only here as long as there is demand and only here for a few years so there will always be chances for local pilots.

To B737 Lover
737 lover, I was just being facetious. I'm not Tanzanian, and unlike flightcomputer, I do not approve of burning people just because I would like their job.
I agree completely with your comments, Tanzania has a shortage of local pilots. The majority of foreign pilots coming to Tanzania though, have at least 1,000hrs, and most have previous experience on type. (Thinking of several van drivers.)
I would imagine next door in Kenya, the situation is the exact opposite.

I guess u r right. In Tanzania we are lucking a strong Pilots association like in Kenya no wonder everything is in a mess, but still I have to blame once again the Government/sponsors for accommodating it. Hopefully things will change in the nearest future.
