African Airlines Aviation

Anyone have any clue as to what has happened to the company in question? Hangar is empty and AVH appears to have vanished into thin air.

I believe they have shut shop. Nothing new, the same old trick, to big to fast, with no contracts. Airplanes that fill aprons don't fill bank accounts. Seems to have been a rather large investment that has now become a substantially smaller one.
If you into conspiracy theories then perhaps there could be some concern as to the merger with Airquarius. Two companies merge = double staff requirements, possible solution.... retrench, no to expensive, so close down one company and tell the employees to take compulsory Christmas leave. Just a thought.
Just one other correction on the post above, its African Airline Investments.

Gone they are, but I don't think its a corporate two step to avoid retrenchment pay. There are some fairly nasty allegations of large scale fraud and its my understanding that one of the principles has already been arrested and that there is more misery to follow.I believe a lot of people have lost a lot of money and they are understandably pissed.

It is disappointing, failed companies in the industry do no good for the ailing cause. It seems that prolonged economic hardship is set to claim a few more casualties in the not too distant future.

Sterkte to all those facing a hungry Christmas

Notamerrychristmas...

Our thoughts are with all the families of those who have a long road ahead these hollidays,

Seems a lot of fools and their money soon part way's, as this was all a elaborate scheme, No AOC, No AMO, but a fleet of large jets, how the hell do these thieving fu#kers bull**** banks and investors into parting with millions, buying obsolete crap, and parking it all over the place, the signs have been there since the first two were parked over a year ago, looking back over the last 15 years, how many got away with similar schemes? none of them are in jail for fraud, selling "shares" and stealing from your own staff, or from investors, or simply not paying the bank, but living lavish lives.....Rossair, J.L. Purvis, Allegiance the first, E.T., Nationwide, Interlink Airlines, Airquarius sorry to say but the future does not look too rosy, I counted 4x732's, 4x F28's one F 70 parked, 2 of the 732's willnot fly again, 3 of the F28's will not fly again, The F 70 looks like a real nice plane, why has it been parked for months....

I do believe at least one investor has no sense of humour when it concerns his money, and the brains behind this little house of cards will not be safe in jail either, go get-em tiger, it is time for some examples to be made.

To those behind this lavish scheme, do the honourable thing, like the rhino poacher, blow you own brain out, save us taxpayers some money on the courtcase

This one looks to be a real mess. Seems that enormous amounts of money are missing and now that the scraching starts it seems that some very dishonest people have done some very very bad stuff. Like:
  • Selling the same aeroplane to several different parties at the same time.
  • Swapping data plates and registration to convince lenders that they were borrowing against a servicable aircraft.
  • Selling an F28 without the owners knowledge.
I believe one director is already a guest of the state and the latest girlfriend of Baba. One hears that before long some of his mates will be joining him. May AHV be the first.

Exclamation AAI

AVH and all those top guys that made the mess did not think of the employees, all the hard work they contributed to try to get the aircrafts arborne, when you put all those hard work into a aircraft/s and you see how she recover from scratch to beautiful, its hard to turn away, all the work for nothing!

Employees trying to get other work, a month before Christmas, very unfair

I was led to belive that Air Quarious was operating the 146's for AAI, is this true? Does AirQuarius have any 146's of its own?

Lanseria Hero's

One thing Aviation is teaching me and that is to run when someone tells me "Stick around and I'll make you famous" I remember having a chat with the guys from AAI and they were tell me how big they are going to be and that the other guys must watch the space as they are going places. See the list of our hero's at Lanseria, and best part is the people that worked for them are trying to put there life together while the CEO's are have a ball of time.
1. Rossair
2. Qwila
3. Nation Wide
4. T-Air Services
5. Executive Turbine
6. African Airline Investments
7. Dodson
8. Highflight Avionics
and not far behind
9. Wesjet

Guess the days of sweet smelling roses may be nearing an end.Do not think Aquarius own any of the 146's but merely maintain them.

Who the hell is T-Air Services? For the sake of correctness Dodson worked his magic at the Boom, not Lanseria.

I don't think Air Quarius owns any of the 146's. And as for operating them, not much of that was done at all. They seemed to all sit in the graveyard and gently corrode. For eg some of them were ferried in and never moved again.

There was a rumour at one point of a merger/buyout between AQ and AAI but nothing ever seemed to come of it. One hears that Air Quarius isn't doing so hot themselves.

If I were these dudes I would be breaking into jail. They have stolen a lot of money from some pretty powerful people and apparently the 'investors' aren't seeing the funny side of it.

well done, AirQuarius. Another unconventional way of getting under the magnifying glass. I belive the CAA are at AirQuarius more frequently than at Waterfall Park...
